LENOIR, NC (May 5, 2017)…Seven individuals completed Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care’s recent Ambassador Volunteer Training sessions. The new Ambassador Volunteers are: Sherry Summerlin with Hudson United Methodist Church, Larry Ferguson and Brenda Witherspoon, both with New Covenant United Methodist Church, Clara Powell with Dry Ponds Baptist Church, Kendal Bray with Crestview Baptist Church, Rachel Boston with Harvest Church, and Laura Pearson with King’s Creek Baptist Church.
Ambassador volunteers, who must be 18-years-old and recommended by the pastor or spiritual leader, serve as a liaison between their individual faith community and Caldwell Hospice. The ambassador educates his/her congregation on Hospice services, publicizes support and volunteer opportunities, and helps coordinate any specialized needs/ministries the congregation can help to meet.
