LENOIR, NC (September 12, 2017)…Four individuals completed Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care’s recent Ambassador Volunteer Training sessions. The new Ambassador Volunteers are Barbara Younce with Crestview Baptist Church, Ashley DeBusk with Clearview Baptist Church, Vickie Gragg with Miller Hill Baptist Church, and Karen Wilson with Grace Chapel United Methodist Church.
Ambassador volunteers, who must be 18-years-old and recommended by the pastor or spiritual leader, serve as a liaison between their individual faith community and Caldwell Hospice. The ambassador educates his/her congregation on Hospice services, publicizes support and volunteer opportunities, and helps coordinate any specialized needs/ministries the congregation can help to meet.
Caldwell Hospice currently has 62 Ambassador Volunteers representing 58 faith communities.
The next Ambassador Volunteer Training session will be November 1, 2017, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Caldwell Hospice’s Wilson Meeting Room at 902 Kirkwood Street, NW, Lenoir.
For 35 years, Caldwell Hospice has provided quality, respectful end-of-life care to our community. For more information about the Ambassador Volunteer Program, contact Chaplain Delbert Minner at 828.754.0101, or dminner@caldwellhospice.org.
