LENOIR, NC (August 31, 2017)…Local veteran actress Bobbie Curtis will bring to life the story of a mountain woman who lived the hard but actual life of the mountains, “Nance Dude,” when she presents two performances of the stage presentation at the Caldwell Heritage Museum in downtown Lenoir on Friday, September 15, and Saturday, September 16, at 7:00 P.M. Bobbi is a veteran performer of the stage and a Caldwell County native.
Written by Gary Carden, the play is based on the real life events of a womanwho did what she had to in order to survive. Nancy Ann Kerley, dubbed Nance Dude, was found guilty in 1913 of causing the death of her two-year-old granddaughter, Roberta Putnam. Nance Dude lived to the age of 104.
Tickets may be purchased at the museum in advance, on a first come, first serve basis. The museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Call 758-4004 for more information on the performances of “Nance Dude.”
Ticket prices are:
—Adults under 65, $12.
—For seniors (65 and older), $10.
—Students 12 years old through high school, $5.00.
