Caldwell County storm damage from Tropical Storm Nate update number 3…important Info

CALDWELL COUNTY, NC (October 9, 2017)…Here is another important update from Caldwell County officials.

The shelter at South Caldwell High School in Caldwell County has been closed. Another shelter will opened on Monday if there is a need.

Roads remain closed through the night due to power line repairs and tree removal. Roads include Mt. Herman Road, Country Acres, Fairway Drive, Star Cross Road and Alfred Hartley Road.

Two Task Force Teams will begin evaluation of damaged homes by 11 a.m. on Monday. Each team will consist representatives of the Caldwell County Health Department, Building Inspections, Sheriff’s Office and Emergency Medical Services.  All evaluation reports will be sent to North Carolina Emergency Management.

The Caldwell County Sheriff ‘s office requests that unless they are a resident, all members of the public should stay out of the storm damaged areas due to the danger of power lines down and other hazards.
