Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office makes arrest after yearlong investigation

LENOIR, NC (September 7, 2018) — Sheriff Alan C. Jones announces that after a yearlong investigation an arrest has been made related to an overdose death that was reported to the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office on August 3, 2017.

Dorian Roshad Ferguson, age 31, was arrested on Thursday and charged with one count of Second Degree Murder related to the Drug Overdose death of Michael Todd Hollar, age 48, that was reported on August the 3rd 2017 at 2087 Ransom Place in Lenoir, NC.

The investigation into the death of Hollar revealed that Hollar consumed a lethal amount of Fentanyl which was the cause of his death.   Investigators were able to determine that the Fentanyl that was ingested by Hollar was supplied by Dorian Roshad Ferguson prior to his death.

Investigators with the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office and Lenoir Police Department are continuing to work very closely with members of the District Attorney’s Office for the 25th Judicial District to combat the string of deaths related to fentanyl overdoses.

Dorian Ferguson is currently serving a prison sentence related an arrest for Possession of Fentanyl that also occurred on August 3, 2017.

Dorian Roshad Ferguson is charged with:

One Count of Second Degree Murder and his Bond is set at $500,000.00 Secured

His First Appearance was held in District Court in Lenoir on 09/06/2018
