Caldwell County Recognizing National Public Health Month

LENOIR, NC (April 28, 2017)…Public Health is present everywhere, every day and in everybody’s life. Many residents of Caldwell County are not even aware of this silent force in their lives. Public health affects us all, ensuring that food served in our restaurants is safe to eat, water is safe to drink, children are vaccinated against dangerous diseases, and generally contributing to the quality of life in our county.

The Caldwell County Health Department wants us to know about these and other public health benefits. Caldwell County Health Department would like to recognize the hard work and committed service of all who strive to “Promote, Protect and Improve the Health of Our Community.”

Denise Michaud, Caldwell County Health Director, states “Caldwell County public health employees are committed to providing the highest quality public health services in an effort to fulfill our mission and working with our community members to make Caldwell County a healthier place to live.”

Caldwell County Health Department staff have been working with and serving the public health needs of Caldwell County residents for over 60 years, providing clinical programs, environmental health, dental health, WIC/Nutrition program, child health, women’s health, animal control and health education programs that are critical to the well-being of the community.

County residents are also encouraged to attend regular meetings of the Caldwell County Board of Health to learn more about public health policy in Caldwell County. The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Health is May 4th, 6:00pm at the County Offices.
