Caldwell County Public Information Officer LouAnne Kincaid passes away
LENOIR, NC (March 26, 2018) — LouAnne Kincaid, Public Information Officer for Caldwell County, has passed away after a brief bought of pneumonia.
For over thirty years, LouAnne Kincaid has brought the news to the Catawba Valley.
Starting her career out of college as News Anchor for WHKY-TV14 in Hickory, North Carolina in 1989, she quickly established herself as top notch reporter. She asked the questions that the viewers at home wanted the answers to.
While at WHKY she was hired to be a “String Reporter” for WBTV News Channel 3 in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she covered the greater Hickory Metro area for the Charlotte TV audience. In 1994 WBTV took her on as a full time reporter and she covered various stories across their large viewing area.
After tiring of the daily grind of nightly news, she went to work for Catawba Valley Community College in 2000. In the marketing department of CVCC, she told folks about the college and all that it had to offer new students of all ages.
In the 2009 she took on the role of Caldwell County Public Information Officer. While writing news about the county, she began hosting TV shows on the Caldwell County Government Channel 190. Soon a familiar face was back on local television, talking to folks about the Health Department, the Department of Social Services, Emergency Services and all of the departments across the county while also highlighting non-profit services too.
During her tenure as Public Information Officer, LouAnne over saw several changes to the county, including the formation of employee customer service training, an upgrade of the City-County Chambers for better broadcast of local meetings and a total refit of the CCGTV Studio.
LouAnne Kincaid is survived by her mother Marylou Kincaid and her brother Jim Kincaid. She was 56 years old.
A receiving of friends will be at Evans Funeral Home and Crematory, Sunday, March 31st from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm followed by a memorial service with Pastor Doug Price officiating. Interment will follow the service at Littlejohn’s Methodist Church in Gamewell.
