Caldwell County Emergency Services Urges Citizens to Stay Off Roads

LENOIR, NC (December 9, 2018) — Caldwell County Emergency Services Officials urge citizens to stay home and off the roads due to Winter Storm Diego, unless it is an emergency. Officials state being on the roads during the winter storm is impeding the process of emergency vehicles and also for the roads to be clear by Department of Transportation. Most Caldwell County roads are impassable, and it is highly encouraged to stay home and off the roads.

So far, Duke Energy has 3831 power outages and Blue Ridge has 659 in Caldwell County. Please prepare for power outages by having blankets/gloves/outerwear close by, batteries/flashlights, non-perishable foods, etc. The safest place during this winter storm is in your home.
