LENOIR, NC (April 21, 2017)…The Caldwell Chamber of Commerce hosted its inaugural “Spring Fling” Golf Tournament. Carolina West Wireless was the main sponsor of this event. The Caldwell Chamber of Commerce was proud to donate a portion of the proceeds to Yokefellow of Caldwell County and Sharon Osborne, executive director, was present to receive the check.
Despite the occasional shower over one hundred players showed up to enjoy a beautiful spring day of golf at Cedar Rock Country Club.
The first place winning team was Scott Grogan, Chad Townsend, Colton Tucker, and Cody Mikeal. Each player received a one-hundred dollar gift certificate to the pro-shop at Cedar Rock Country Club and individual trophy. The team enjoys a traveling trophy and bragging rights for a year.
Burdette Beckmann, Inc. took second place with team players Jonathan Craven, Eddie Waters, Tom Harold, and Larry Reid. Each player received a fifty dollar gift certificate to the pro-shop at Cedar Rock Country Club.
Caldwell County Schools team took third place with players Andy Puhl, Luke Brakefield, Chris Greene, and Lee Swanson.
Other tournament winners include Colton Tucker, Leigh Hobbs with Piedmont Natural Gas, Kenneth St. John with Carolina West Wireless, and Jim Pitts with Blue Ridge Mountain Club.
