HICKORY, NC (September 19, 2017)…Susan G. Komen® Northwest NC is delighted to announce Broyhill as the presenting sponsor of the Susan G. Komen NWNC Foothills Race for the Cure®, to be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at L.P. Frans Stadium in Hickory, North Carolina beginning at 9:30 a.m.
With a commitment to quality and value, Broyhill is a leader amongst fine furniture brands. Beginning in the Foothills region of North Carolina in 1926, Broyhill has now flourished into an internationally recognized company that is setting furniture industry standards.
Broyhill’s presenting sponsorship of the Komen NWNC Foothills Race for the Cure is part of their initiative to give back to the local community through important causes. In addition to the Race, the Komen Northwest NC Affiliate will also provide Pink4Lunch informational sessions in each Heritage Home Group office and plant location.
“Through the generosity of the Heritage Home Group Charitable Trust, we are proud to have our Broyhill brand sponsor the Komen NWNC Foothills Race for the Cure,” states Heritage Home Group CMO, Regan Iglesia. “Broyhill is a family brand that wants to enhance the real lives of real people. One that is in sync with modern life and the pleasures that it can bring. Broyhill captures the latest styles with everyday practicality in a way that complements today’s busy lifestyles.”
The Komen NWNC Foothills Race for the Cure is much more than just a race. It’s a celebration of life, a chance to remember those who have lost their battles with breast cancer and a family-friendly event that’s fun for all ages. With a certified 5K and a shorter family course to special activities for breast cancer survivors and more, it’s an inspiring event for everyone. Most importantly, the funds raised from this event save local lives! Seventy-five percent of all the funds Komen Northwest NC raises stays local and funds grants to community healthcare organizations so women and men, regardless of their circumstance, can get free mammograms and access to educational outreach initiatives to raise breast health and cancer awareness. The other twenty-five percent goes to national research to find the cures for breast cancer.
Susan G. Komen is the world’s largest breast cancer organization, funding more breast cancer research than any other nonprofit while providing real-time help to those facing the disease. Komen was founded in 1982 by Nancy G. Brinker, who promised her sister, Susan G. Komen, that she would end the disease that claimed Suzy’s life. Komen Northwest NC is working to better the lives of those facing breast cancer in the local community. Through events like the Komen NWNC Foothills Race for the Cure®, Komen Northwest NC is invested in community breast health programs in its 22-county service area.
