Blue Ridge Energy Sends Crews to Help Sister Cooperative

LENOIR, NC (September 21, 2018) — On Wednesday, Blue Ridge Energy sent 20 line technicians and nine bucket trucks to assist in power restoration efforts for Carteret-Craven Electric Cooperative (CCEC). All of CCEC’s 40,000 members were left without power last weekend as Hurricane Florence devastated the co-op’s service area of Carteret, Craven, Jones and Onslow counties in eastern North Carolina. The latest report Friday regarding CCEC’s outages indicate that 75 percent of their members are restored with power. Blue Ridge crews joined 400 other linemen from 16 electric cooperatives who sent crews to help CCEC, which is in one of the most devastated areas from the hurricane.
