LENOIR, NC (December 7, 2018) — Blue Ridge Energy urges members to keep important safety tips in mind, ahead of this weekend’s winter storm.
Forecasts continue to indicate that a large winter storm will impact the Blue Ridge Energy service area. Preliminary snowfall projections suggest that many portions of the service area may be impacted by over one foot of heavy wet snow. Wet snow weighs heavily on tree limbs, possibly leading to trees or limbs falling on power lines.
If outages occur as a result of the winter storm, Blue Ridge members are encouraged to keep the following suggestions in mind:
Keep the Blue Ridge Energy outage reporting number handy: 1-800-448-2383. Members can also report outages on the Blue Ridge Energy mobile app, available for free on app stores.
The electric cooperative serves some 76,000 members in Caldwell, Watauga, Ashe, and Alleghany counties as well as parts of Avery, Alexander and Wilkes counties. Learn more at www.BlueRidgeEnergy.com
