Arson suspect in Sawmills apartment complex fire turns himself in
BURKE COUNTY, NC (March 10, 2017)…33-year-old Timothy Allan Harmon turned himself into law enforcement officers in Burke County around 4:35 p.m.
Harmon is the primary suspect of a fire on Oak Tree Lane in the Sawmills Community of Caldwell County yesterday. Warrants have been issued against Harmon for First Degree Arson and First Degree Kidnapping. Those warrants are expected to be served this evening.
Caldwell County Sheriff’s Officers are in route to the Burke County Jail at this time to take Harmon into custody.
The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, along with Fire and Rescue Personnel from multiple agencies, responded to a reported Structure Fire at an apartment complex located on Oak Tree Lane around 6 a.m. yesterday. Once the fire was contained Fire Investigators were able to determine that the fire was a result of Arson.
Fire Investigators along with Detectives were able to determine circumstances connected to the intentionally set fire, including the fact that the apartment complex was occupied at the time fire was set.
Harmon was identified as a suspect in the fire and the warrants for arrest were issued.
Reportedly, Harmon fled the scene prior to the arrival of Law Enforcement to the scene of the fire.
