LENOIR, NC (May 6, 2024) ⇒ The National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) will conduct its annual national food drive on Saturday, May 11. The Letter Carrier food drive was first held in 1983 and is the country’s largest one-day food drive, provides residents with an easy way to donate food to those in need.
As the need for food assistance is still more significant than ever, this is an opportunity for everyone to continue to meet that need and help your local community food pantry and soup kitchen. The Stamp Out Hunger Donor Drive is a drive with a single mission—to feed the hungry in America, and as always, with your help, we will!
The spring food drive’s timing is key, because winter holiday donations have dwindled from food pantries and homeless shelters.
As always, the food collected at the Lenoir Post Office will stay in Lenoir and is divided equally by Yokefellow Food Pantry and the Lenoir Soup Kitchen.
Participating in this food drive is easy – just leave a non-perishable food donation in a bag by your mailbox Saturday morning and your letter carrier will do the rest. Yokefellow and Soup Kitchen volunteers will be working at the Lenoir Post Office all day unloading your carrier’s vehicle! Please help our fight to end hunger and celebrate this special annual Food Drive event!
