Above and Beyond Recognition

MORGANTON, NC (March 29, 2019) — Lisa Dales, RN, nurse at Carolinas Health Systems–Blue Ridge, received Caldwell Hospice’s Above and Beyond award for the second quarter of 2018 for her exemplary work and attitude.

Caldwell Hospice Nurse Kristy Brown, RN and Clinical Liaison Brittany Bonn, Carolinas Health Systems–Blue Ridge’s co-workers, Lisa Dales, RN, and Amanda Privette.

“Lisa displayed the true definition of a nurse while caring for a Caldwell Hospice patient also under her care,” said Caldwell Hospice’s home care nurse Kristy Brown, RN, who made the nomination. “She was a true patient advocate and was truly on top of things during the last few hours of this patient’s life. She was phenomenal!”

When asked why she chose a career in nursing, Dales said “I wanted to do something that matters…where I could make a difference in the world. I think that’s what we’re meant to do, and it’s an honor to serve in this way.”

The Above and Beyond award is presented quarterly by Caldwell Hospice to recognize staff members of area healthcare or long-term-care facilities who encourage quality end-of-life care for residents/patients and their families. Caldwell Hospice staff and volunteers nominate recipients.

For over 36 years, Caldwell Hospice has provided respectful, compassionate, quality end-of-life care and services to all who need and desire them, wherever they call home, including area long-term-care facilities, private residences, hospitals, or in their two inpatient facilities. Caldwell Hospice is honored to continue long-time partnerships with community long-term-care facilities as companions for the journey in caring for their residents.
