Abington Road to receive much needed guardrail

LENOIR, NC (September 24, 2017)…After receiving many complaints from citizens about the lack of guardrail on Abington Road in Lenoir about a year ago, Caldwell County Commissioner Donnie Potter has worked diligently with the NCDOT to address these concerns.  The road has seen numerous accidents over the years where vehicles have run off the road and down embankments.   Potter said that “This should make the area much safer.”  NCDOT Division Engineer Michael Pettyjohn told us that they are receiving approximately $300,000 to install guardrail and that work could be started as early as this fall.
