HICKORY, NC (September 27, 2018) — Archangel Gabriel Church is the only Orthodox Christian church serving the people of our area. The church is a mission station church of the Orthodox Church in America, Diocese of the South. Their aim is to bring the Ancient Christian Faith to the Hickory area and they have been doing so since 2014. They are affiliated with Holy Cross Orthodox Church in High Point.
All who are interested in learning about or looking for the Ancient Christian Faith of the Early Church are welcome. You can meet members of the church at their booth at Hickory Oktoberfest, Oct 12, 13 and 14 on Sundays where they meet at the chapel of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1911 Zion Church Road in Hickory.
In October they are expanding services by offering the Divine Liturgy twice per month and Typica Services on the alternating weeks Sundays at 10:00am. Saturday Vespers services and Catechumen classes are scheduled to begin in the Fall.
