HUDSON, NC (November 18, 2018) — Cecil Lewis, age 69, of Hudson, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2018, at Caldwell Co. Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson.
Mr. Lewis was born on March 25, 1949, in Ashe County, to the late Blaine David Lewis and Ella Mae Jones Lewis. He was of the Baptist faith and retired from the textile industry.
Mr. Lewis served his country proudly in the United States Army and earned the National Defense Service Medal. He enjoyed fishing and raising chickens for pets.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Lewis.
Surviving Mr. Lewis are his wife of 44 years, Sheila Lewis, of the home; a son, William Lewis of Hudson; a daughter, Belinda Galicia and husband Rene Delgado of Hudson; brothers, Jimmy Drum and wife Tammy of Rhodhiss and Tim Lewis and wife Alison of Mouth of Wilson, NC; a sister, Betty Jean Stewart and husband Fred of Hickory; a daughter in law, Samantha Lewis of Lenoir; and four grandchildren, Cortney Lewis, Hailey Lewis, Katherine Lewis and Andres Ramirez.
A Memorial Service with Military Honors by Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard and North Carolina National Guard Honor Guard will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Sawmills Veterans Park, Waterworks Rd., Sawmills, NC conducted by Reverend Ed Warren.
