Structure fire in Granite Falls damages two apartments
GRANITE FALLS, NC (October 6, 2016)…A structure fire in Granite Falls on Falls Avenue across from Concord Baptist Church damaged one apartment and caused water damage in the adjoining apartment making both uninhabitable. Firefighters were able to stop this fire from spreading to the other apartments in the complex. Granite Falls Fire Department with mutual aid from Grace Chapel Fire Department, Sawmills Fire Department and Lovelady Rescue Squad battled the fire. Hudson Fire Department also assisted as stand by at the Granite Falls Fire Department. Caldwell County Fire Marshal’s Office, Granite Falls Police Department and Granite Falls Electric Department were also on the scene to provide assistance. There were no injuries but the Red Cross was called in to assist the families involved. Firefighters from the Blowing Rock Fire Department and Mountain View Fire Department were also on hand to assist as they were attending a training session at the Granite Falls Fire Department when the call came out for this structure fire. No official word on a cause.
