50th anniversary celebration of the opening of Hibriten High School set

LENOIR, NC…Hibriten High School officially opened its doors on August 26, 1966. Plans are currently underway to mark their 50th anniversary with a celebration that will take place on Friday, September 30, and Saturday, October 1 at Hibriten High School in Lenoir, NC. During Friday night’s Homecoming festivities on September 30 all former football players, cheerleaders, and Homecoming queens will be recognized. There will fun and festivities for all.

Alumni from the band and chorus will also be recognized and included in a special alumni performance.  Former members of the band will gather at 5 pm on September 30 in the band room for a meet and greet. Former band members that are interested will march into the stadium with the current band and play in the stands.  Former members of the chorus will join this year’s current chorus for the singing of the Star Spangled Banner.

A welcome ceremony and celebration will take place on Saturday, October 1 beginning at 10 am in the theatre. They would like all former students and staff to attend.
