LENOIR, NC (May 1, 2018)…The descendant of Irishman Brinsley (1713-1794) and Englishman Solomon (circa 1742-1807) will celebrate their 3rd Annual Barnes Reunion on Saturday, May 19, 2018. Both men died in Wilkes County, NC. The two families account for ten Revolutionary War Patriots and that Brinsley’s family originally settled in Old Orange County, NC. As active participants in the War of Regulation, they had to flee to Wilkes. A major branch migrated to Tennessee in the early 1800’s.
