2018 Child Health and Safety Fair

LENOIR, NC (April 3, 2018)…Caldwell County Health Department will be hosting the 2018 Child Health and Safety Fair, located outside the Health and Human Services Building (2345 Morganton BLVD SW, Lenoir 28645).  The event will be held on April 19th, 2018, from 4:00pm until 6:30pm, weather permitting.

Each year, a Child Health and Safety Fair is held during the Week of the Young Child, in partnership with the Family Resource Center/Enola Group in Lenoir.  Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration hosted by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) celebrating early learning, young children, their teachers, and families.  This event also serves as a community Safe Kids Day to recognize the importance of keeping children safe and to promote ways to prevent childhood injuries.

During this event, children and parents will discuss safety with Caldwell County Safe Kids and first responders (including law enforcement, fire fighters, etc).  Parents will learn health topics from a variety of agencies, including Caldwell County Health Department (Dental, Child Health, Maternity, WIC, etc).  Also joining the event will be Project Lazarus, the Robins Nest, the Forestry Service, and many other agencies.  All those involved will have educational material and games for kids of all ages.

This event is geared for parents and children, birth to 5 years old. The event is free for everyone!

For more information please contact Anna Martin, Health Promotion Supervisor (828) 426-8506.
