10 am Sunday OUTAGE UPDATE: Crews Continue Working To Restore Power
LENOIR, NC (10 am Outage Update January 13, 2019) — Blue Ridge Energy line technicians are restoring power for over 700 members without power as of 10 am Sunday.
Earlier this morning, outages were at a height of 1,130 across the cooperative’s service area due to trees and tree limbs on power lines after icy weather began shortly after midnight in Caldwell, Alleghany, Ashe, Alleghany, Alexander, Avery and Wilkes counties.
As of 2:09pm Sunday, outages are now at a total of 144 across the cooperative’s service area with Caldwell County at 9.
As of 10 am Sunday, outages stand at: Ashe County: 453; Wilkes County: 116; Alleghany County: 75; Watauga County: 43; Caldwell County: 30; and Avery County: 10.
Blue Ridge Energy reminds members to report all outages by calling 1-800-448-2383 or by using the Blue Ridge Energy mobile app. Outage updates are available on the cooperative’s live outage map at www.BlueRidgeEnergy.com and on the mobile app.
The cooperative reminds the public to stay far away from downed power lines as they can still be energized and therefore dangerous, even deadly! Report downed lines by calling 1-800-451-5474. Only a trained line technician should ever go near a downed power line.
