LENOIR, NC (February 16, 2018) — Here is the Caldwell Pregnancy Care Center February 2019 Newsletter.

Dear Friends,

How sweet it is to see the face of one who has just given his life to Christ! Last Tuesday evening I had the privilege of seeing a face alight with the glory of God come from one of our counseling rooms.  A young man had been led to salvation through Christ by two of our male mentors.  This young man came to us because his girlfriend is pregnant, and when she made her appointment for parenting classes, he was encouraged to come along.   When he came, he was met by a peer counselor (a godly man) who shared the love of God.  This young man responded enthusiastically to the salvation message and recognized his need for a Savior.  He is now a new man in Christ and can move forward in learning to be the best father to his unborn baby and raising this precious child to know the Heavenly Father.  We are looking forward to seeing the growth that will happen in the next two years as we continue to mentor to him through parenting classes and Bible study.  We will gladly stand with him as he learns what it means to stand for Christ.

When the phone rings and the first thing you hear is, “How can I get an abortion?  I can’t have this baby,” our hearts drop.  This is what happened the first week we were in our new building.  A young woman found herself in what she felt at the time was an impossible situation.  She was pregnant, her boyfriend was abusive, and it wasn’t his child.  She was desperate and crying out for help.  Our Administrative Assistant, Rebecca, lovingly explained our services to her.  She told her that while we could not answer her question on where to get an abortion and that we didn’t recommend abortion, we could offer her a safe place to talk through her options.  The young woman made an appointment for the following week.  From the time she talked with us on the phone, came for her appointment, and met with a peer counselor, God did a work in her heart!  She told our nurse, “God wouldn’t want me to have an abortion – can you help me?”  I truly feel that the loving voice she heard on the line the day she called our office helped give her hope.  Instead of hearing judgement and anger, she heard compassion and love.  She is now exploring the option of an adoption plan for her precious baby.

These two lives – a young man and a young woman – have been tremendously impacted by the work that is done within our walls.  The volunteers that give of their time, the nurses who share their training and expertise, the staff who make the ministry run smoothly, and the board of directors who oversee the vision of this ministry – everyone has had a direct hand in this precious man who is now walking with the Lord and this precious life that was saved from the fate of abortion.  Both now have an opportunity to live and reach the full potential of what God has created them to be!

I am looking forward to seeing what God does next!!  Will you pray for these two and the many more that will come through our doors?  We give God all the glory!
