“Start the Conversation”…Advance Care Planning Workshops

LENOIR, NC (March 28, 2017)…Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care will three workshops on advance care planning—including information on issues patients and families face at end-of-life, living wills, and healthcare power of attorney documents.

Entitled “Start the Conversation: Make It Know How You Want to Live,” the workshop will be offered at three times: 10 a.m., noon, and 2 p.m., on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at Caldwell Hospice’s McCreary Family Professional Center, 526 Pine Mountain Road, Hudson.

The program will feature a screening of the Academy Award-nominated documentary “Extremis,” a 24-minute film that chronicles the daily dilemmas physicians, patients and families face in the ICU as death nears. Retired attorney Houston Groome will also be on hand to give a brief explanation of living wills and healthcare power of attorney documents. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, complete documents, or leave with information to consider further.
