Schools welcome parents and students to orientation

LENOIR, NC (August 3, 2021) — After more than a year of restricting access on school campuses due to the pandemic, schools are inviting parents and students to attend orientation for the upcoming school year provided conditions allow for a safe and healthy school environment. Currently, face coverings are optional.

During school orientation, parents and students may expect to participate in a way that best meets the needs of each school’s learning environment in identifying classroom teacher(s) and receiving pertinent information regarding school operations, such as classroom schedules, bus transportation, child nutrition, before/after school care, and more. All parents are encouraged to complete a student data sheet for each child. This information is entered into the school district’s informational system called PowerSchool, which is critical for use in communicating with parents throughout the school year.

Parents will also receive a school calendar, student handbook, and a classroom syllabus as applicable. More importantly, students will once again connect with their friends and new classmates before school officially begins on August 23, 2021. Caldwell Applied Sciences Academy (CASA) and Caldwell Early College High School students start on Monday, August 16, 2021.
