NC Ski Resort operation updates

NORTH CAROLINA (December 5, 2016)…North Carolina ski resorts will be working hard to open and re-open in the coming days so “Think Snow!”  Sugar Mountain Resort is currently the only ski resort open with 1 lift and 4 trails.

Sugar Mountain Resort – Open for day and night skiing and riding. No snowmaking today. The slopes have some thin areas. Ice skating is open with sessions at 10am, 12pm, 2pm and 4pm.

Beech Mountain Resort – Set to open for skiing and snowboarding on Saturday, December 10, 2016. The resort will operate from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and all facilities will be open. Our snowmaking team is hard at work and will continue to make snow as temperatures allow. Our goal is to re-open with a quality product.

Appalachian Ski Mountain – Unfortunately, skiing & snowboarding operations at App Ski Mtn. will remain suspended. Snowmaking temperatures did not materialize as hoped over the past 2 nights. The weather forecast for the latter part of the coming week shows temperatures dipping into the teens, which will make for ideal snowmaking and should allow ASM to re-open for the weekend of Dec 10 & 11 if not sooner. Stay tuned for information as it becomes available.

Cataloochee Ski Area – Please note that Cataloochee will not operate during the week of Monday, December 5 until snowmaking weather moves back into the area Wednesday or Thursday. We will begin daily operations again as quickly as temperatures and snowmaking allow. Please check with us for an updated report on Thursday.

Sapphire Valley Ski Area – Target opening date is December 17, 2016.

Wolf Ridge Ski Resort – Wolf Ridge Ski area will be opening soon!!! Weather permitting, we will be shredding snow together the weekend of December 10th and 11th.
